Sports Desk: Bangladesh batsman Mushfiqur Rahim dedicated his heroic innings to his newborn son after Bangladesh registered a nerve-wreaking 5-wicket victory against Sri Lanka on Saturday.
He said, "We needed a victory very much. Batsmen deserve the credit. They have fought well in a nerve-wreaking situation till the end. The foundation laid by Liton and Tamim was really great. It was actually a batting wicket. I dedicate this win to my 35-days-old son."
Mushfiqur Rahim was unbeaten on a 35-ball 72 as Tigers set their first 200-plus score in T20Is and completed their highest run-chase in the shortest format.
Following his leg injury, he said, "I felt pain at vein during batting. Hope, I will come round soon."
