Mysterious death of two children

Staff Correspondent, Gazipur: Two children have died mysteriously in Dakkhin Salna area under Gazipur City Corporation.

On Tuesday evening, police recovered the body of a child from their house. The other body is in the Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue.

The children were two brothers. They are- Shakil (10 months) and Humayun (7). Their sister Rubina (12) has also been admitted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.

They are the children of Md Rafiqul Islam at Hafania village under Haluaghat upazila in Mymensingh.

Rafiqul who is a mason resides in a rented house in Dakkhin Salna area of Gazipur City Corporation with his family members.

The deceased uncle Md Shahjahan said his brother-in-law, sister and children ate rice with Pangas fish. Suddenly, the child Shakil fell ill. When he was taken to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital in Gazipur, the duty doctor declared him dead. Later, Humayun and Rubina fell ill. Humayun died on his way to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.

Joydebpur Police Station OC Aminul Islam said that in the evening, police recovered the body of Shakil and sent him to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
