NBR chairman urges to make tax-friendly environment

Staff Correspondent, Jessore: Chairman of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) Md. Nojibur Rahman has urged to make tax collection process friendly.

The NBR chairman said this while speaking at a workshop on ‘Non Tariff Barriers and Rules of Origin’ at a local hotel in Jessore on Tuesday.

Nojibur Rahman said with the establishment of friendly relations with the neighboring country, our commercial interests will be preserved. Customs officers should work in such a way that traders are not harassed. At the same time, we must keep an eye on the expansion of our trade.

He said that trade has flourished in the era of present globalization and the new situation is emerging.

The NBR chairman said the country is going forward. All activities are going on in digital mode. The era is changing. That's why we have to go ahead with the new era. The country will have to take forward.

Jessore Customs Commissioner Shawkat Hossain presided over the workshop. 

NBR member Khandaker Mohammad Aminur Rahman and Khulna Divisional Commissioner Lokman Hossain Miah were present as special guests.
