NBR's CIC Director General removed

KMA Hasnat: Director General (DG) Md Belal Uddin of the Central Intelligence Cell (CIC) of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) has been removed over his involvement in some alleged irregularities.

NBR issued a notification in this regard on Wednesday. The notification came into effect soon it was published.

Md Belal Uddin has shifted to NBR's Taxes Appellate Tribunal, Dhaka.

The notification signed by Secretary of the Department of Internal Resources and NBR Chairman revealed that the decision was taken for public interests and administrative needs.

Earlier, Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith wrote a letter to NBR Chairman and Secretary of the Department of Internal Resources for shifting Belal Uddin to NBR member/equivalent (reserved) post. The letter told to make it effective from January 10. As a sequel to that, Belal Uddin was removed from CIC.
