Staff Correspondent: National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) will write letters to bring back convicted fugitive killers of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman hiding abroad.

NHRC Chairman Dr Kazi Reazul Hoque ca me up with the statement while speaking at a programme held on the National Mourning Day at its office in the capital on Wednesday.

He said, “To ensure justice of the fugitive killers, NHRC will write letters to the authorities concerned seeking them back. We all must have to work together to build a hunger and poverty free ‘Sonar Bangla’ dreamed by Bangabandhu.”

“Bangladesh could not achieve independence if Bangabandhu was not born. The Begali nation could not reach today’s position. Bangabandhu passed half of his political life in jail for the welfare of the country’s people. It is not possible to know Bangladesh properly without knowing Bangabandhu. But a group of stray Army men assassinated him along with his family before 43 years ago,” he added.

He said, “Bangabandhu and the members of his family never comprised on the question of independence.”

Earlier, Kazi Reazul Hoque along with other officials of the National Human Rights Commission paid tributes to the portrait of Bangabandhu at Dhanmondi-32 in the capital in the morning.
