Nahid urges Muslim countries to face global terrorism

Secretariat Correspondent: Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid on Saturday urged the Muslim countries for creating stronger bondage among them in challenging the threat of global terrorism.
As the leader of the Bangladesh delegation, he made the call while addressing the 13th session of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (ISESCO) at its headquarter in Rabat, Morocco.
A press release issued from the Education Ministry today confirmed the matter.
Nahid said it is important to maintain regional cooperation and collaboration among the member states of ISESCO in challenging the threat of global terrorism and to glorify the Muslim Ummah across the globe with the message of peace and solidarity,” according to the press release.
He also mentioned Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s firm, timely and generous decision to shelter over 1.1 million Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh territory.
“It (sheltering Rohingyas) was highly praised by the international communities,” he said.
He urged the member states of ISESCO to come forward with an active role to ensure safe return of the Rohingya Muslim refugees to their motherland Myanmar as soon as possible.
Ministers and representatives from the 54 member states of the ISESCO across the world are attending the two days session, which will be concluded tomorrow.
Laila Sultana, Bangladesh Ambassador to Morocco, and Md Monjur Hossain, Deputy Secretary General of Bangladesh National Commission for UNESCO, among others, attended the conference.
