Nam's body to be released to NKorea

International Desk: The body of Kim Jong-nam is supposedly no longer in the Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) mortuary and has been taken to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

It is believed that the body will be sent to Beijing.

Earlier at the North Korean embassy on Jalan Batai, Bukit Damansara here, an embassy vehicle with several people inside was seen leaving the compound.

The silver Toyota Alphard, that was ferrying at least five people, was seen leaving in a hurry at about 3.15pm.

Movement and activity around the vehicle before it left the embassy caused a small frenzy among media personnel gathered in front of the building.

The door of the vehicle, which was parked in front of the embassy's main door, was seen opening, indicating that there were people getting into the vehicle.

Its lights also came on and off several times before it eventually left the embassy compound.

At the HKL mortuary, a grey-coloured van believed to be transporting Jong-nam's body left for KLIA at about 1.40pm.

Officials have yet to comment on the matter.

Last Friday, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said police were aware that three North Korean suspects, including embassy second secretary Hyon Kwan-song, wanted in relation to Jong-nam's murder investigation, were taking refuge at the embassy.

Police have also issued an Interpol Red Alert for four other North Koreans, aged between 33 and 57, who have since returned to Pyongyang.

Jong-nam, the estranged half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, was killed at Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA2) on Feb 13.

Two women – Vietnamese Doan Thi Huong and Indonesian Siti Aisyah – were charged with Jong-nam's murder on March 1.
