National VAT Day today

Desk Report: The National Board of Revenue (NBR) is observing the ‘National VAT Day-2018’ today (Monday) aiming to encourage people to pay the Value Added Tax (VAT) for the country’s development.

The NBR will also observe the ‘National VAT Week-2018’ from December 10
to 15 next.

The slogan of this year’s ‘VAT Day’ and ‘VAT Week’ is ‘VAT Dichhe Janogan, Desher Hochhe Unnayan’.

NBR chairman M Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan inaugurated the day and the
week at the NBR headquarters in the city.

The NBR will organise a view-exchange meeting at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) in the capital. The NBR will honour the highest VAT payers in the meeting where Finance Minister AMA Muhith will attend as the chief guest.

In separate messages, President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh
Hasina greeted the tax payers, VAT administration and its officials on the
occasion of the National VAT Day-2018 and the National VAT Week-2018.
