National Voters Day March 1

Staff Correspondent: The Election Commission (EC) will observe March 1 as ‘National Voters Day’ with elaborate programmes across the country.

EC will hold rallies and distribute leaflets at regional and divisional towns, districts and upazilas. It will also publish supplements in different newspapers on the day. For this, EC has already issued directives to form a committee in this regard.

According to EC sources, a letter in this regard signed by EC assistant secretary Mosharraf Hossain was sent on January 14. In the letter, EC asked the authorities to form sub-committee if needs and to inform the possible cost of the programmes.

Bangladesh government recognised March 1 as National Voters Day last year.
