Staff Correspondent, Savar: The Savar National Martyrs' Memorial is all set for observation of the Independence Day of Bangladesh on March 26.
President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will place floral wreaths in the early hours of the day to honour the memory of the martyrs.
Already all types of preparations have been done. Tight security measures were taken to ensure foolproof security in the area.
The National Martyrs' Memorial has been cleaned and decorated ahead of Independence Day celebration. The bricks from the entrance to the main memorial ground have been coloured in red and white. Flower pots have been placed along both sides of the walk way. Trees in the memorial area have been trimmed and smartly groomed. Following the decoration, the whole memorial compound is ready now.
Md. Mizanur Rahman, Deputy Assistant Engineer of Public Works Division said, such decoration took place every year.
“The whole nation will observe the 49th Independence Day of Bangladesh this time. The main gate will be opened after the visit of President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, National Parliament Speaker, cabinet members, diplomats,” he said.
