Nepal plane crash: List of Bangladeshi casualties released

Staff Correspondent: A total of 26 people including pilot and three crew members among 36 Bangladeshis were killed in the plane crash of the US Bangla flight at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu.

The injured 10 are undergoing treatment in different hospitals.

Bangladesh Embassy in Kathmandu released the list of Bangladeshi casualties on Tuesday afternoon.

The US-Bangla Airlines flight BS211, which flew from Dhaka to Kathmandu carrying 67 passengers and four crew members, crashed at Tribhuvan International Airport in the capital of Himalayan country of Nepal on Monday noon, leaving 49 people, including 26 Bangladeshis, dead.

Asit Baran Sarker, first secretary of Bangladesh Embassy in Kathmandu confirmed the news.

Md Kamrul Islam, General Manager (GM), Marketing Support and PR of US-Bangla Airlines in a press briefing said, “Of the injured, Emrana Kabir Hashi, Shahreen Ahmed, Sheikh Rashed Rubayet, Almun Nahar Annie, Mehedi Hasan, aiyada Kamrunnahar Shwarna, Kabir Hossain and Shahin Bepari are undergoing treatment at Kathmandu Medical College and Hospital.

Eakub Ali has been admitted to Norvic Hospital and Rezwanul Haque is undergoing treatment at Om Hospital.

Bangladeshi who were killed in the plane crash were known as Foysal Ahmed, Alifuzzaman, Bilkis Ara, Begum Hurun Nahar Bilquis Banu, Akhtara Begum, Nazia Afrin Chowdhury,  Rokibul Hasan, Hasan Imam, Nazrul Islam, Akhi Moni, Mehnaz Bin Nasir, Faruk Hossain Priok, Prionmoyee Tamarra (child), Motiur Rahman, S M Mahmudur Rahman, Tahira Tanvin Shashi Reza, Pias Roy, Begum Umme Salma, Nuruzzaman, Rafiq Zaman, his wife Sanzida Huque Bipasha and their son Aniruddha Zaman (child).

Pilot Abid Sultan, first officer Prithula Rashid, crews Khwaza Hossain and KHM Shafi were also killed in the tragic accident, according to US-Bangla Airlines authorities.
