Secretariat Correspondent: The new ministers, state ministers and deputy ministers have been sworn-in to the cabinet of the 11th parliament. There are 24 ministers, 19 state ministers and three deputy ministers in the 47-member cabinet including the prime minister. The new government stated its journey through their oath-taking today.
Awami League President Sheikh Hasina took oath as Prime Minister of the country for the 3rd consecutive term along with her 46 cabinet members following her party’s massive victory in the 11th parliamentary election held on December 30, 2018.
President Abdul Hamid administered the oath to the Prime Minister at 3:39 pm while to 24 ministers at 3:46 pm, to 19 state ministers at 3:53 pm and to three deputy ministers at 3:57 pm at the Darbar Hall of Bangabhaban.
Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam conducted the oath-taking ceremony.
The official gazette over the new cabinet will be published anytime soon.
With the publication of the gazette, the outgoing cabinet will be abolished, the cabinet secretary earlier said.
On Thursday, President Abdul Hamid invited Awami League President Sheikh Hasina to form the new government.
PM’s Portfolios
According to the list of the cabinet members, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will keep the portfolios for Cabinet Division, Ministry of Public Administration, Ministry of Defence, Armed Forces Division, Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources and Ministry of Women and Children Affairs.
