Staff Correspondent: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Miah has said that Human haulers (a short-distance vehicle popularly known as leguna) will not be allowed in capital.
The DMP commissioner made the announcement while addressing a press conference at DMP media center in the capital around 11:00am on Tuesday.
He said, "Leguna do not have route permit. Those who operated these vehicles, they did it illegally. There will be a restriction against these vehicles in the capital."
However, there is no restriction to ply Leguna on outskirt of the capital, Asaduzzaman said.
"Chaotic situation is created in city streets due to the Lagunas. These vehicles are also responsible for the road accidents," he added.
Month-long second phase special police drive is scheduled to start from September 4.
