No bar to release of Apan Jewllers owners'

Staff Correspondent: The appellate division of the Supreme Court upheld the High Court order granting bail to the owners of Apan Jewellers.
A five-member appellate division bench led by Acting Chief Justice Md Abdul Wahhab Miah passed the order on Monday morning.
Following the order, there is no legal bar to the release of Gulzar Ahmed and Azad Ahmed, the lawyers said.
However, Dildar Ahmed Selim, one of the owners of Apan Jewellers will not be released following other cases.
Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh moved for the petitioners while eputy Attorney General Motahar Hossain Saju stood for the state in the case.
Earlier, the Supreme Court stayed the High Court order granting bail to three owners of Apan Jewellers in three money laundering cases.
On December 14, the bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Shahidul Karim granted bail to Dildar Ahmed, Gulzar Ahmed and Azad Ahmed in three money laundering cases, after hearing their petitions. Later, the state filed a petition seeking stay of the HC order.
