‘No creative politics in BNP’

Staff Correspondent: Food Minister Advocate Qamrul Islam said no could make elections controversial during the tenure of the Awami League (AL) government. But BNP is hatching conspiracy to question polls to destroy the election system.

He also termed BNP as paper and statement-based party, saying their only resource is to make negative questions to the democracy, election and developments. There is seen no creative politics in the party.

The Minister came up with the statement while speaking at a discussion in the capital’s National Press Club on Friday.

Qamrul said, “The party always makes negative comments against all things. Their speech indicates conspiracy to destroy all constitutional institutions including EC. People do not believe their words any more. All people are saying that the Khulna city election was peaceful, but the party are trying to make it controversial.

There are nearly 32 media in the country. There is no chance to arrange any unfair election dodging all the media, he added.

He said, “I do not know whether BNP will participate in the next general election. But I know this election commission will arrange the polls. They will present a fair election and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will lead the polls-time election as per the constitution.”
