No exam till class-3 from this year

Secretariat Correspondent: The government has cancelled examination system till class-3 from this year.

Akram Al-Hossain, Secretary of Primary and Mass Education Ministry, came up with the disclosure in a press conference arranged for publishing primary scholarship at the secretariat on Sunday noon.

Recently, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave the ministry instructions to cancel exam system till class-3 considering study pressure and to prevent dropping out in primary.

In context of PM’s directives, The Primary and Mass Education Ministry had earlier said that the exam system till class-3 will be cancelled from next year. But they took the final decision this year.

However, Secretary Akram Al Hossain said, “Though the exam system has been withdrawn, evaluation process exists. The process will remain continue for students to step into next class. Students of class-4 and 5 will appear for examination to be qualified for next class."
