No fear of militant attack during polls: Monirul

Staff Correspondent: Chief of Counter Terrorism unit of Police Monirul Islam said that law enforcement agencies are ready to prevent violence centering polls. There is no fear of militant attack during polls.

He said this while speaking at a citizen dialogue titled ‘Youth involvement in preventing extremism-violence’ at CIRDAP Auditorium in the capital on Friday.

Monirul said, “It is not good for the state to control everything by police. Social awareness and prevention will have to be increased to root out the violence and militancy. The feeling of deprivation gave birth extremism in youths. Not only social and economic deprivation, some youths also believe that they are also deprived of religiously.
