No more unplanned buildings: Minister

Senior Correspondent: Housing and Public Works Minister SM Rezaul Karim declared that no unplanned buildings will be built from now.

The minister made the announcement while addressing newsmen after a meeting at his secretariat on Monday morning.

He said, “I don’t know what happened in the past. But, from now, no unplanned building will be allowed. Legal action will be taken against the illegally built buildings.”

“We have some planning. Works to identify risky and unsuited buildings is underway. We will request the building owners to destroy these buildings for the sake of safety and planned city. Otherwise, we will take initiative legally to demolish these buildings,” he said.
