Islam does not support killing of people: PM

Staff Correspondent: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that Islam does not support killing of people. Islam is a religion of peace. There is no scope for the raise of militancy here.

The premier made the opinion while addressing the 42nd founding anniversary of Islamic Foundation at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital on Thursday afternoon.

‘We will work together so that none can undermine our holy religion,’ she said adding that weapon producers’ traders were eventual beneficiaries of the militancy at the cost of Muslim blood.

‘It is very unfortunate that Muslims are being killed by Muslims. So I hope that the initiative of the Saudi King would help make all Muslim countries aware of the fact,’ she said.

Sheikh Hasina also expressed her gratitude to the vice president of Masjid al Haram and Masjid e Nabawi and imam of Masjid e Nabawi in KSA and to the people including Alem-Olema who attended the rally.

Claiming that Islam believes in peace, Hasina called upon Alem-Olema to spread out words of peace across the country as well as the world, upholding real teaching of Islam so that none can dare to stigmatise Islam.
