No seating service in city from Apr 15

Staff Correspondent: There will be no seating service or gate-lock public transports in Dhaka city from April 15, declared Bangladesh Road Transport Owners Association.
Khandaker Enayet Ullah, Secretary General of Bangladesh Road Transport Owners Association, came up with the disclosure in a press conference at the capital's Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) on Tuesday.
He said Bangladesh Road Transport Owners Association has taken a decision to stop seating service, gate-lock, Non-stop or special service public transport in Dhaka city from April 15. Since the day, the passengers will pay the fare fixed by Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA).
"Those who will disobey the decision, the organisation must take steps against them," he added.
All-types of trucks are asked to remove bumper and angle from the day.
Khandaker Enayet Ullah said there have been a lot of allegations over violating rules and regulations in name of seating services. There are allegations of collecting extra charges as well. So, the Association has taken decision to stop the services after investigating into the allegations.
"Owners of all seating service transports were called in the meeting. The decision was taken with their consents," he added.
