No teacher in president post of managing committee: HC

Staff Correspondent: The High Court (HC) has ordered that no teacher can be elected or nominated as president in the managing committee or governing body of any non-government educational institutions (school, college and madrasa).
The bench of Justice Sheikh Hassan Arif and Justice Md Badruzzaman came up with the order declaring the rule issued in this regard as proper one.
Writ petitioner lawyer Advocate Md Humayun Kabir confirmed the news on Wednesday.
According to the case statement, A B M Anisur Rahman, who is a teacher of a non-government educational institution in the same upazila, was elected president of the managing committee of Jhinia M A High School of Gaibandha’s Sundarganj upazila. Badsha Mia, guardian of a student of the school, filed a writ petition challenging the legality of his presidency post. The court issued a rule in this regard against the teacher after primary hearing on October 15.
