No threat over August 15: DMP Commissioner

Staff Correspondent: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia said there is no threat over the National Mourning Day on August 15. Even then, several-tire security measures have been taken in the capital.

He said this in a press briefing at Dhanmondi-32 in Dhaka on Tuesday.

The DMP Commissioner said, “Strict security measures will remain effective over the August 15 in the capital.

He also urged law enforcers to be alert so that nobody can take selfies while paying tributes at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

In reply to a query, Asaduzzaman said, “Militants tried to attract international attentions carrying out attack at Holey Artisan of the capital’s Gulshan. We foiled their activities. The report has already submitted to the court after completing investigation in the case.”
