No threat of attack during Eid: DMP Commissioner

Staff Correspondent: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia said, there is no threat of militant attack during the upcoming Eid al-Fitr.

The top police official made the assertion after visiting the arrangement of National Eidgah in the capital on Thursday.

"Those who got release from jail are in police surveillance. That’s why there is no threat of militant attack," he said.

DMP Commissioner said that multitier security systems will be ensured including CC cameras, dog squad, bomb disposal unit, SWAT, plain dressed police.

Meanwhile, he also said the devotees in the Eidgah will be allowed to carry only Jaynamaj and umbrella.
