No traffic jam on highways reported yet: Minister

Secretariat Correspondent: Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has claimed that there is no traffic congestion on highways this time.
The minister said made the opinion while addressing newsmen at his secretariat office in the capital on Monday.
He said, “I visited two terminals where lot of allegations were found regarding additional fare. There were also some words from the transport owners. That was- the buses return empty delivering passengers outside of the capital. I told them to earn less now as they earn huge all the year-round.”
Regarding traffic jam, the minister also said, “We have to take steps to control in Dhaka city. I will join meeting with mayors. A chaotic situation is prevailing in Dhaka.”
“The new BRTC buses are playing a better role in long routes. We have fined Shah Fateh Ali Paribahan of Bogura and Hanif Paribahan,” he added.
