Oikyafront holds meeting with foreign diplomats

Senior Correspondent: Senior leaders of newly formed Jatiya Oikyafront held a meeting with foreign diplomats stationed in Dhaka at a city hotel on Thursday afternoon and later briefed about the country’s latest political situation and the alliance’s position on the next general election.

On behalf of Oikyafront leaders, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir presented an introductory speech. Later, Dr Kamal Hossain started briefing diplomats on different issues.

Diplomats from different countries, foreign agencies and international bodies joined the progarmme .

Senior BNP and Oikyafront leaders were also present at the closed-door programme.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Oikya Front leaders at a meeting at JSD president ASM Abdur Rob’s Uttara residence decided to hold a rally in Sylhet on October 23.

On October 13, BNP together with Dr Kamal-led Jatiya Oikya Prokriya, JSD and Nagorik Oikya launched the Jatiy Oikya Front to press for their seven-point demand, including holding the next polls under a non-party administration.
