One killed in Uttarkhan fire

Staff Correspondent: A man was burned to death and seven people, including four women and a minor boy, sustained injuries as a fire broke out in a flat on at Beparipara in Uttarkhan of the capital on Saturday morning.

The deceased was identified as Azizul, 27. He died around 10:30am.

Bachchu Mia, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police outpost confirmed the matter.

The fire broke out at their flat on the ground floor around 4am as there was a leakage in their gas pipeline, leaving eight people injured critically.

Later, the fire fighters rescued the injured from the flat and took them to the DMCH.
