'One lakh houses set up for Rohingyas'

Staff Correspondent: Disaster Management and Relief Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya said some 1,25,000 makeshift houses are needed for Rohingya people fled to Bangladesh from Myanmar. Of the demands, 100,000 have already been set up. The rest 15,000 will be made within this month.

The Minister said this while speaking at a programme held at the capital's Osmani Memorial Auditorium on Friday.

He said Myanmar government tortured Rohignya Muslims in the same manners like Pakistan oppressed Bengalis in 1971. The people took shelter in our country. We also welcomed them for the sake of humanity. Now we request the Myanmar authority to stop the oppression, to take back them and ensure safe habitants for them.

He also urged all not to do politics over the Rohingya people.

He said if anybody wants to help them, we will not bare him/her.  But, if someone wants to do politics in name of assistance, they will not be spared.
