Operation again begins at Mirpur militant den

Staff Correspondent: Operation again began on Wednesday morning at the militant den at Mazar road under Mirpur Darus Salam Thana in the capital.

Earlier RAB sources said at least five people including militant Abdullah may be killed at the Mirpur militant hideout.

Director of RAB’s legal and media wing Mufti Mahmud Khan said the matter would be confirmed after launching operation on Wednesday.

A sound of terrible explosion was heard from the militant hideout on Tuesday night. After the explosion no response was found from the hideout, he also said.

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) cordoned off the building at Mazar road from early Tuesday, suspecting it to be a militant hideout.

Earlier, RAB detained two militants in a drive at a house in Mosinda area of Kalihati upazila under Tangail district.

Based on the information given by the detainees, RAB members conducted the raid in the capital’s Mirpur area.
