Order on reopening Lakehead Grammar school Tuesday

Staff Correspondent: The Supreme Court (SC) will deliver its order over reopening the Lakehead Grammar School on Tuesday.

A five-member Appellate Division bench headed by Acting Chief Justice Md Abdul Wahhab Miah fixed the day for the order on Sunday.

Senior Lawyer A F Hassan Arif, Barrister Akhter Imam and Barrister Rashna Imam moved for the Lakehead School while Attorney General Mahbubey Alam represented the state in the court.

On Sunday, the Attorney General submitted a report prepared by the detectives to the court whether Lakehead authority or teachers are involved in militancy.

On November 7, the Dhaka district administration sealed off Dhanmondi and Gulshan branches of Lakehead Grammar School and shut down all activities of the school, based on allegations that it was patronising militancy, promoting extremist views and providing support in the formation of militant outfits.
