Over 50 lakh tenants under registration in city

Staff Correspondent: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has brought more than 50 lakh tenants of the city residents under registration as part of its move to collect citizens’ information.

According to the DMP, information of more than 50 lakh tenants has been preserved to the DMP database after the launching of its registration activities. Besides, around 14,65,249 families under all police stations of the metropolitan city have been brought under registration.

Inspector of DMP media wing Md Anwar Hossain Khan made the disclosure on Wednesday.

He said they have got huge response from the city dwellers after the launching of registration activities of tenants although many of them have not filled in the form yet. Hope they will fill in the form within few days and submit those to the concerned police stations.

The initiative to collect citizens’ information began in September 16 last year in a bid to curb crime in the metropolitan city.
