PABL, III sign MoU

Professional Advancement Bangladesh Ltd. (PABL) has entered into a historic MoU with the Insurance Institute of India (III).

The MoU signing took place between III and PABL on Monday, 15th May, 2017 in Dhaka, says a press release.

Papia Rahman, Senior Executive Director & In-Charge of PABL, and  Poyyale Venugopal, Secretary General, Insurance Institute of India,  signed on behalf of their organizations.

A. S. A Muiz, Senior Consultant, Golam Mustafa, Senior Additional Managing Director, A. K. M. Iftekhar Ahmad, Consultant, Nazim Tazik Chowdhury, Additional Managing Director & Chief Financial Officer, Syed Kaiser Ahmed, Deputy Managing Director (Marketing), Kabir Ahmed Chowdhury, Senior Executive Director & Head of Audit and Compliance of Green Delta Insurance Company Limited, Dr. George E. Thomas, Professor, College of Insurance, Insurance Institute of India, Namdeo D. Kokare, Secretary, Insurance Institute of India,  Bhimsingh K. Rathaur, Secretary, Insurance Institute of India, and Arup Dasgupta, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) of Bangladesh Ltd. were present during the signing ceremony.

PABL was launched by Green Delta Insurance Company Ltd. in 2014 to provide demand based trainings for its employees as well as for other stakeholders.

Governed by its Advisory Board consisting of a group of knowledgeable, experienced and reputed personalities from the insurance industry of Bangladesh, PABL seeks to enhance the professional capacity of the country's financial sector.

Insurance Institute of India was formed in 1955 to provide the entire spectrum of academic and professional services for the Indian insurance industry.

This MOU between the PABL and the III is expected to provide professionals from the Bangladesh insurance industry easy access to a variety of courses conducted by III.

III has already recognized PABL as its on-line examination centre and today manypersons from Bangladesh are taking up III courses sitting in Dhaka itself.

The MOU would also facilitate people from Bangladesh to undergo short-term training programmes on the campuses of College of Insurance in Mumbai and Kolkata.

PABL would now be able to partner the training need analysis initiatives of the College and evolve customized training packages specific to the growing needs of the local industry.
