PCB name 16-memebr squad to play against World XI

Sports Desk: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have named a 16-member squad for the Independence Cup against ICC World XI, according to PCB's official twitter account.

The three-match T-20I series is scheduled to be held on September 12, 13 and 15 respectively at Gaddafi stadium in the country's Lahore, the scene where eight people were killed in a gun attack on Sri Lanka team bus in 2009. However, no cricketer was killed in the incident.

The team has been selected considering the conditions and the recent performances of some players in the domestic and international tours. The players’ consists of a combination of the fine blend of youth and senior players, according to PCB official website.

Fahim Ashraf, Ruman Raees, and Aamer Yamin make a place in the squad due to their splendid performance in the domestic tournaments, whereas Sohail Khan makes a comeback.

It would be good for the young players to get a chance to play on the home ground and perform in front of the local public”, said chief selector of the PCB's National Selection Committee Inzamam ul Haq. 

Team Pakistan 16-member squad: Sarfraz Ahmad (Captain - WK), Fakhar Zaman, Ahmed Shehzad, Baber Azam, Shoaib Malik, Umer Amin, Imad Wasim, Shadab Khan, Muhammad Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf, Hassan Ali, Amir Yamin, Muhammad Amir, Ruman Raees, Usman Shinwari, Sohail Khan.
