PM Hasina to start polls campaign from Dec 12

Staff Correspondent: Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to start election campaign formally from December 12 (Wednesday) after offering munajat at the shrine of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Tungipara.

Jahangir Kabir Nanok, joint general secretary of the party, came up with the information at a press briefing at the party Sheikh Hasina's Dhanmondi political office in the capital on Monday noon.

He said the Prime Minister will go to Tungipara in Gopalganj on Wednesday morning (Dec 12) by road. She will start the formal election campaign after paying tributes to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at his graveyard.

The Prime Minister will also address a rally at her own constituency while another rally at Kotalipara at noon, Nanok said.

She will also travel different parts of the country as part of her electioneering, the AL leader added.

About the election manifesto, Nanok said, “AL’s election manifesto will be unveiled after December 16.”
