PM asks ministers to ensure transparency, accountability

Secretariat Correspondent: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina asked the ministers to ensure transparency and accountability during project implementation to continue the pace of developments.

The premier gave the directive in her introductory speech at a meeting of The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) this morning.

The ECNEC meeting was started around 10:00am at the NEC Conference Room in the city’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area.

Planning Minister M A Mannan will briefed reporters after the meeting.

Earlier, Planning division senior secretary Ziaul Islam said a total of nine projects will be presented at the meeting.  

In the opening speech, the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, implementation of development project is our main target. The ongoing work speed of the projects should be continued. The quality must be ensured. That’s why surveillance should be increased.

She said, “All will have to work with utmost sincerity and integrity to improve the lives and livelihoods of common people who kept trust and confidence in Awami League in the last general election.”

“We all will work together to build a golden Bangladesh,” She added.
