PM assures no quota to stay in govt jobs: BCL

Staff Correspondent: "There will be no quota in civil service jobs. Hundred percent will be recruited from merit," said leaders of the Bangladesh Chhatra League quoting Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

BCL General Secretary SM Jakir Hossain told reporters after a meeting with the Prime Minister on Wednesday noon.

Earlier at 10:00am, BCL President Saifur Rahman Sohag and General Secretary SM Jakir Hossain met with the Prime Minister at Ganabhaban.

At a press conference held at Madhur Canteen on Dhaka University campus, BCL President Saifur Rahman Sohag said, “We met with the prime minister. She told us that there will no longer be any quotas for government jobs.”

He also said that the Prime Minister today will speak in the parliament regarding the issue.
