PM inaugurates BNA Bangabandhu Complex

Staff Correspondent, Chittagong: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has inaugurated Bangabandhu Complex at Bangladesh Naval Academy in Patenga.

A special helicopter carrying the premier landed at Isha Khan Naval Base in the port city Chittagong around 11:00am on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Navy Chief Admiral Mohammad Nizamuddin Ahmed and other high officials welcomed the prime minister.

After the inauguration of the naval base, Sheikh Hasina provided national standard status to BN Dockyard, the main center of warships. 

Earlier, on December 29, 2010, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina laid the foundation stone of the complex.

The ship-like complex has 16 buildings and other infrastructures for academic activities and training as well as residential purposes.

The complex also has wardroom, parade ground, swimming pool, boat-pool and other facilities.

To ensure international standard training, the complex has seamanship, antisubmarine, gunnery and communication model room, chart room, library, computer and language club, modern auditorium and seven different types of laboratories.
