PM puts emphasis on sports

Desk Report: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina asked students to get involved in different types of sports alongside study.

She said, "Sports are also needed alongside the study.  Because, sports help developing physical and mental growths.

The premier said this at the closing ceremony of Winter sports competition for school and madrasa at Bangabandhu National Stadium in the capital on Sunday.

Sheikh Hasina said, "Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founding father of the nation, was always interested in sports. Different types of sports' competitions were launched with his efforts since 1972, a year after the country bagged independence."
