Desk Report: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is set to leave Dhaka for New Delhi tomorrow on a four-day official visit to India.

The Bangladesh premier is paying the visit at the invitation of her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi.

"The upcoming visit is expected to further expand the cordial and cooperative relationship between India and Bangladesh and build on the strong ties of friendship and trust between the two leaders," a joint statement issued by the two countries said earlier.

Diplomatic quarters of both sides expected that the reciprocal visit of the Bangladesh prime minister to India will take the Dhaka-New Delhi historic relations to a new height.

It will also unveil a new chapter of cooperation in various sectors including trade and commerce, economy and connectivity as a total of 35 agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs) are expected to be inked during the visit.

A VVIP flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the premier and her entourage members will take off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka tomorrow morning and reach Indian Air Force's Palam Station in New Delhi in the afternoon.

India's Minister for Heavy Industries and Public and Enterprises Babul Supriya and Bangladesh High Commissioner in New Delhi Syed Moazzem Ali will receive the prime minister.
