PM signed CJ's application for leave: Law Minister

Senior Correspondent: Law Minister Anisul Huq said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has signed the application of the Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha for going abroad.

The Minister made the disclosure while addressing reporters after the meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Public Procurement on Wednesday.

He said, “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and I have approved the application. It now only needs the president’s signature."

"President Abdul Hamid cannot sign as he is out of Dhaka now. If the President signs the application, then the chief justice will not have any restrictions to go abroad," the law minister said.

“According to the rules, every government employee needs a government order to go abroad,” he added.
