Passenger detained with 7 kg gold in Ctg

Staff Correspondent, Chittagong: Customs authorities of Chittagong Shah Amanat Airport have detained a passenger with 60 gold bars weighting 7 kg.

The gold bars were recovered from the Dhaka-bound Regent Airways passenger Mohammad Saifuddin on Saturday night. Later, the customs authorities arrested Saifuddin.

Assistant Commissioner of Airport Customs Rabindra Chandra Singh told risingbd that they had secret information about the gold bars and Saifuddin’s luggage was searched while crossing the customs area. 60 gold bars were recovered from his trolley bag. Saifuddin was detained and legal action was taken against him.
