Staff Correspondent: Bus counters are witnessing a huge pressure of passengers bound for Chattogram, Cumilla, Feni, Noakhali from Dhaka on the occasion of holy Eid-ul-Azha. Employees working at the bus counters at Sayedabad bus terminal said passenger pressure is likely to mount at the counters from tomorrow.
They say bus operators started selling advance tickets for Eid from August 6-7. The crowd is increasing at the counters as passengers without tickets are joining the passengers with tickets.
Borhanuddin, an employee at Star Line counter, said passenger pressure started increasing at the counters from Thursday afternoon. They are thinking of additional transports to deal with the rush of holidaymakers, he added.
Belayet Hossain, an employee of Ena bus counter, said they have shortage of buses. Additional pressure of passengers has increased the bus crisis more.
After all, the bus counters are overcrowded with passengers bound for their homes to celebrate the Eid with their near and dear ones. To deal with the Eid rush people, bus operators are thinking of additional transports to be used.
