'People irrespective of all parties to walk on footpaths'

Staff Correspondent: Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) mayor Selina Hayat Ivy said, "I am a tested soldier of Sheikh Hasina. I do not need to prove myself time and again. I am a dedicated worker of the Awami League… I am a fighter, a leader."

People of Awami League, BNP and common people will walk on footpaths. Hawkers cannot run their businesses there, she said.

Ivy told this to the media in Dhaka on Tuesday, after she was released from hospital.

She described last week’s fierce clashes between supporters of her and Awami League MP Shamim Osman as ‘a victory of peace against weapons’.
