People still leaving capital

Senior Correspondent: Home-bound people are still leaving Dhaka on Wednesday, one day after Eid, to enjoy vacation with their nearest and dearest ones.

Holidaymakers are thronging at Sadarghat launch terminal, Sayedabadh, Mohakhali, Gabtoli bus terminal to start their home-bound journey.

Mahatab Hossain, a day labourer, used to go native village on Eid day. He said that a good number of sacrificial animals are slaughtered in Dhaka every year during Eid-ul-Azha. He sold meat after begging from door to door. Then, he left the capital with that money from meat. 

Kashem, a residence of Barisal said, he worked in a readymade garment shop in Dhaka. He had to work till midnight in that shop before Eid day. That’s why he is going home this morning.

Milon Ahmed, manager of Eagle Paribahan said passengers are also leaving Dhaka today. Transport owners kept the bus service active on Eid day thinking the home-bound people.
