People's interest in budget increasing: Finance Minister

Staff Correspondent: "People's interest in budget is increasing gradually. We have been able to present pros and cons of the budget to the mass people and involve more people in the budget," Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith told the parliament today.

The minister said this at the concluding speech in budget session in the Jatiya Sangsad.

Muhith said, "Constructive discussion and opinions from lawmakers about the proposed budget help play a vital role to finalise the budget. For this, he expressed gratitude to all." 

The finance minister said, "All walks of people, economists, intellectuals, professionals and businessmen were highly involved in discussion about the budget proposed for the upcoming fiscal year 2017-18. The negative and positive sides of the proposed budget were discussed which seemed affirmative to me. Our government is the government of people. People's opinion on our every step leads us to a right way."
