Police alert in Ctg ahead of Aug 21 grenade attack verdict

Staff Correspondent, Chattrogram: Chattrogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) has taken all preparations to check anarchy ahead of the verdict in the August 21, 2004 grenade attack case to be delivered tomorrow (October 10).

All sections of the police have increased security measures in important points of the port city.

Leaders and activists of Awami League will remain in the field to check anarchy ahead of the verdict.

Additional Commissioner Amena Begum said anarchy in any form wouldn’t be allowed centering the verdict.

Replying to any intelligence report of sabotage centering the verdict, she said, “No intelligence information has so far been received regarding the matter. But, we have given necessary instructions to all the battalions of the force to take preparations to check any anarchy ahead of the verdict”.

Awami League leader Khorshed Alam Sujon said, “We will remain in the field so that none can carry out any subversive acts ahead of the verdict”.
