Senior Correspondent: BNP’s pre-announced conference of the capital’s Engineers Institution Auditorium has been foiled.
The conference was scheduled on the occasion of the ‘National Revolution and Solidarity Day’.
BNP alleges that the conference was foiled by police despite their all-out preparations.
At least 30 leaders and activists were also held from the venue, BNP leaders claimed.
BNP assistant office secretary Munir Hossain said the programme was scheduled at 2:00pm. Accordingly, BNP leaders and activists reached there. But they could not start the programme as police took away their loudspeakers and opposed them.
“At least 30 leaders including central leader GS Babul were held from the venue. So, the conference was cancelled,” he added.
