‘Police now more powerful force’

Staff Correspondent: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Saturday afternoon said, “Police have now turned into a powerful force. Police and people are working together. The government will make police force more people-friendly.”

The home minister made the comment at a function organized to celebrate 43rd founding anniversary of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

Newly appointed Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Mohammad Javed Patwary, DMP Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia and DU's Vice-Chancellor Dr Mohammad Akhtaruzzaman were present at the programme.
