'Power prices to be adjusted with gas prices'

Staff Correspondent: Claiming the gas price hike as logical, the state minister for power, energy and mineral resources Nasrul Hamid Bipu said government has also plans to raise power prices to adjust with gas prices.

The Minister came up with the disclosure while speaking at a programme at Shishu Academy in the capital on Friday.

He said, "Prices of gas has been raised which will be effective in two phases. We want to adjust power prices as well."

Earlier, Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) raised gas tariff by 22.7 percent in two phases.
