Preparation being taken to reduce losses

Secretariat Correspondent:  Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said that the government is taking preparations to reduce losses due to the severe cyclonic storm 'Fani'.

The minister said this at the beginning of a conference on the fire safety at the conference room of the Home Ministry on Thursday.

He said the government has remained on high alert to tackle the severe cyclonic storm 'Fani'.

“People know how to deal with such disasters. We hope we can save ourselves and our own people”, he added.

The severe cyclonic storm Fani may hit Bangladesh on Friday. The Met Office has advised Mongla and Payra ports to display danger signal number seven (7). Maritime port in Chattogram has been asked to hoist danger signal number six.
