President Abdul Hamid pays tribute to martyred intellectuals

Risingbd Desk: President Abdul Hamid paid respect to the martyred intellectuals, by placing wreaths at the Mirpur Martyred Intellectual graveyard in the morning.

Later, Prime Minister's Military Secretary Major General Mia Mohammad Zainul Abedin placed wreaths on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday.

On this day 46 years ago, the marauding Pakistan army in collusion with their local quislings - the Al-Badr, Al-Shams and Razakars - killed the most prominent intellectuals of the country in a bid to cripple the newly emerging Bangladesh.
